Hanging out

A relaxed day. Hanging out and lounging. Drizzly grey clouds, holed up in the cabin with the wood stove roaring. Good conversations and time to reflect in the midst of the whirlwind that is teaching this course.

I snapped this shot in Katie's cabin. A hodge podge of character and scribbles adorning the walls and old knotted wood ceiling. Prayer flags, and dangling shells, little Indian dolls peering down from the rafters, and long gone scribbles of joyous moments and epiphanies. I liked the way the colors of the prayer flags contrast so bright with the darkness between the rafters, balanced on both sides by the figure perched looking down and the stillness of that dangling scallop shell. Something about it...zen.
