Lampshades Bouquet

A last minute decision this evening saw us heading towards Liverpool City centre for the first night of the River of Light Festival. It is on until 5th November, but many of the upcoming evenings don't look too good in terms of rain. This year's event is called "united by light" and has a Ukrainian tie in after the Eurovision Song Contest was hosted by Liverpool earlier this year.  It's our second year of attending so we sort of knew what to expect this time. 

As we were looking for a parking space, the heavens opened and we contemplated going back home, but sat in the car for a few minutes and it slackened off a bit. We decided to chance it in the hope that it would stop completely and after a few minutes it did, but not before we were both quite damp! 
It was VERY busy as it was last year, and once again it was very tricky to get shots without people in them, so I gave up trying :) 

My blip is of the installation called Lampshades Bouquet by French studio TILT and it was one of my favourites. We didn't think it was as good as last year, but it was still enjoyable. The other one I liked is in extras and is called United by Music and featured songs from Eurovision as well as the lights. 

Thanks so much for all the love shown for my kingfisher yesterday. It was very much appreciated. They are certainly popular birds.
