A blanket of webs

Although it was grey and misty F and I went for a walk around The Racecourse and surrounding lanes. We saw a pair of great spotted woodpeckers flying over and a pair of jays plus small birds, none were close enough to make a decent photo though.

My blip is a small portion of a large patch of gorse which was covered in webs. I've been trying to find out what had made them and the closest that I've found is the Gorse Spider Mite.  I couldn't see anything living in the webs but as the adults are half a milimetre long, that would explain it.
