Looks Good To Me

The Zodiac is Back

We went to a reception for Whatcom Community Foundation donors at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal this evening, and spotted the schooner Zodiac ready for her summer season of day sails, cruises, charters, and training programs.

The Zodiac was built in 1924 for the heirs to the Johnson and Johnson family. During the Depression she was sold to the San Francisco Bar Pilots and operated as a pilot vessel for forty years, retiring in 1972. The Vessel Zodiac Corporation was formed in the mid '70s to restore, operate and maintain the vessel.

The Zodiac spends most of her field season working out of Bellingham, just a short sail from the San Juan Islands. Zodiac is occasionally available for day sails in Seattle's Lake Washington and Lake Union.
