Halloween at Forty House
A day out being royally entertained by our friends Al and Liz in Waltham Abbey. Always a good day with conversation, food and a visit out.
This afternoon we called in at Forty House in the borough of Enfield. A fine house from the times of Charles I complete with extensive park and ornamental lake. Land for the park was enclosed and stolen from the peasants. They were not amused.
As it is half term week the house was all decorated out for Halloween. They rather overdid the fake cobwebs in most rooms and it was very dark in all rooms. Except in the red room which was very dramatic.
A variety of blips today made it difficult to chose the main event. That’s why there are three extras. Hope you like the apparition in the kitchen.
The journey to Waltham Abbey was its usual fraught self. As a bonus, the journey home was, for once in a blue moon, trouble free.
