RARE FIND
This is a pic of the very rarely seen Marsh Crake (porzana pusilla ) - a tiny slim sectretive rail. not a great photo but a treasure indeed. Not many get to see this little bird - my great thrill !
I havent been out much in the last week or so but was astounded to see this little treasure whilst out and about today. I thought at first it was a Sparrow fossicking under the tree I was looking at with a Kingfisher on the branches. WHATS THAT! said I ( to myself - careful poo you're starting to talk to the birds !! ) I wasnt even positive what I'd seen until I got home to check it out.
Its not a great shot but I was pleased with the find.
It was in the rushes down by Bridge St. ( for keen twitchers !)
