I visited Valerie yesterday. I haven’t seen her ‘for real’ since our holiday in August. I admit to being anxious. She’s had some tough weeks on a new chemotherapy since then. Her cancer continues to grow.

And yes, she’s lost a lot of weight and is quite frail needing crutches for walking, but as ever, she is still our wonderful sister. She met me from the station in Yeovil and we went straight out to lunch and even a short walk.

Far too short a day, and I was back at the station to catch the trains home. Four hours later I arrived. A long day but so worthwhile and with much gratitude.
