In The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia..

The skies cleared gradually this morning as we wound our way north along the Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park. Oh, that has such a nice ring to it :o)

Later in the day we drove back to Alexandria, near Washington DC and spent two horrendous hours attempting without any great success to find a nice motel for a few nights. We ended up in an anonymous Holiday Inn surrounded on three sides by interstate highways. That'll teach me to be so smug (see above).
