An early-hours session brought the quarterly magazine almost to a finish, after which I had a little lie-down and then made my way in to town after lunch with a clear conscience.
After a bit of shopping in Mary Street and the ILAC Centre I walked through the mall to Moore Street, set the camera to square format and black & white and tried my hand again at some street photography. It ain't easy when you're trying to capture people unawares and they're constantly on the move, but I managed to bring back a reasonably good crop. It wasn't all that difficult deciding that this was the pick of the bunch and deserved to be today's blip. So here she is, a young girl who was walking up and down outside a shop on Moore Street waiting for what I took to be her mother to finish her shopping.
Vincent, the neighbour who died on Tuesday evening, was brought home this afternoon. I escorted next-door-neighbour Susan in to pay her respects. We didn't stay long, because I'd arranged to call in on Derek and Rita in Ashbourne. The coffin was open, of course, and Vincent looked peaceful and at rest, released from the pain he's endured for the past six months.
We had the usual enjoyable time in Ashbourne, livened up by the arrival of Lily the grandchild and here dad. A super supper and a quick slideshow of Derek and Rita's photos from their recent trip to West Cork during the best of the recent lovely weather. It was hard to believe that what we were seeing was in Ireland. Things are looking far from good for the coming weekend, with nasty weather maps threatening all sorts of awful wetness.
Vincent's funeral mass is tomorrow morning. Time for bed now.
