Thought I’d take a look at the new extension to the National Gallery on the Mound and I’d thought I’ll just go in the old way ie through the front door behind the RSA and check the ‘old’ gallery before going downstairs to the new part. Mistake. I got so rapt up checking and appreciating the existing artwork, working where the artworks were positioned during my last visit in Nov 20 that I ran out of time to look at the new Scottish galleries. I’ll just have to face up to the hardship of visiting the gallery again, this time going the other way round.
