Looking Up

Various degrees of success attained today. We were out shopping for hours but whereas S managed to get a few things she fancied, my shoe search proved a failure (the recent weather has exposed some serious deficiencies in my winter-ready footwear).
Better luck in the kitchen though. I’ve been rehydrating an old Christmas pud with apple juice and booze (mostly booze) and after a fair bit of hunting around found a recipe that could use it. I can happily report that Christmas Pudding Pie is excellent both hot with ice cream and cold with yogurt. Surprised the hell out of me! And then a loaf that I’d left proving this morning has turned out just about perfect after baking. That’s success, sod the shoes.
