Snow shadow
Today’s main job was in the camper van. As winter arrives we have to drain off all the water so it doesn’t freeze in the pipes or tank. I remove the pump from the tank and keep it in the warm until it’s dry. I also take the chance to wipe out the inside of the tank, making sure it is clean and dry and ready for refilling next spring.
We also took away the last clothes and food, left over from our Portugal trip, from the van.
As long as we don’t get a dramatic snowfall we have a couple more short trips planned before the van goes into winter hibernation. We’ll take the water we need in containers. The cooking and heating uses gas and that still works as usual.
The photo today comes from our garden. Under the wild plum tree there is a snow free area, which I always think looks a little strange. The plum tree still has its leaves because winter overtook autumn before that season had fully run its course. That’s unusual but what is usual about the weather these days?
