I look at the world from my window

Arabic life takes some.getting used.to.

By default I walk slightly behind Himself,  I avert my eyes when a lady in full covering is trying to.eat breakfast.

Queuing is a British passtime which the Arabs have no time for.  Tooli says she spends her lunchtime shifts trying to explain to the children why they can just stand in front of a child who has already waited

This morning at breakfast we were waiting patiently for a seat at breakfast

I was aware of the couple approaching behind us (sometimes they make a noise of recognition kind of like a snort) I stood carefully behind Himself as I could see Madam wasn't stopping.

But to my utter joy; her husband grabbed her hand bag (givenchy) handle and janked her back

I could not honestly believe my eyes. I'm quite content to be a lesser citizen here.  I respect their traditions and me in my British holiday clothing is everything they don't want to see

But he held her back and we were seated.

They then had to.be told that there were seats waiting to be cleared before they could be sat and that wasn't good enough

She took the menu and went outside to the seated area in the heat.  He husband first sat and then stood to move the shade. Wasn't enough they moved tables.twice before she was happy.  Then after five minutes she came.storming back in demanding service

Other people had come in and been seated whole she stewed outside so she indicated for her husband to return and demanded the manager whose appearance threatened the operation of the dining room. All the staff stopped and gazed at him open mouthed

He guided the lady and her husband to a sofa in the lounge and then instructed the staff to bring an assortment of breakfast items

I'd say at a guess they took one of everything

They sampled a little and had paid and left before we had even finished.  What a palaver

The rest of the day was spent on the beach alternating between cooking and swimming   a by now customary Caesar salad for.lunch albeit with shrimp today rather than chicken and then we drank from fresh coconuts and then we had to leave

I have loved the past three days which have felt like a week
