Lithgow was built on the mining industry and the manufacture of small arms.  There's some interesting architecture to be seen there, ranging from the mid/late 1800s to the present. This rather stately building was originally a bank - a curious design for a town whose majority of workers would have been on the lower end of the economic scale when it was constructed.
