My day today partly was removing a kind of basil leaves and place in a food dryer. This kind of basil smell really strongly and since I'm sensitive to strong smells I got hay fever. :D The more I was dealing with them, the more I got used to the smell, but the beginning was not fun. When I'd filled up the dryer a couple of times, by moving leaves around when they started to dry to get more space, I asked for a break from that. I got it. :) So, I begun the 'journey' of sowing Ginkgo Biloba seeds. Very interesting to read how to 'stratify' the seeds in a long paragraph, and then the two last sentences just said 'And you can also sow them and then place them in a cold storage for the appropriate time', and just erased the whole process of placing the seeds in the fridge for 5-8 weeks. Both I and my boss just laughed and shook our heads at that. They want to germinate in half soil half sand mix. We don't have sand so ours are germinating in soil/fine grovel mix and buried in the beds in Greenhouse 1. So, now we have some months before they will go into the warm greenhouse and perhaps in springtime we'll have Ginkgos growing. :) I brought the seeds so, I'll bring one Ginkgo home with me later, and leave the other 5.
