Open Day

Yet another dark, wet and wild morning.  We three were all up and out early and driving over to Glasgow, as BB wanted to go to the University of Glasgow open day.  He had already been to one with his friends, but wanted to go back.  Given the weather, the drive wasn’t too bad.  At least it was dry in Glasgow when we got there.  We had a few hold ups due to a closed motorway junction, then closed roads, so it took us longer than it should have to get to the University.  TT threw us out as BB wanted to go to a talk at 9:30 and went off to find somewhere to park.  We got to the talk just in time.

BB found it useful and the presenter had recommended a further talk at 10:30, so we headed to that one too. In between we had a chat at the chemistry stall, then later at biology.  Finally I took BB to see the sports centre, which is much extended since I worked at the University.   We then went for a wander, ending on Great Western Road and ended up back at the car and headed home.

It was still grey when we got back, but a little later it brightened and the sun appeared.  Hurrah!  TT did some garden tidying and prepped tea and I went for a walk.  It was so nice to be out in the sunshine.

Later we met up with a couple of friends at the local tap room for a couple – which soon became more than a couple once the rugby came on. TT couldn’t be moved until the game was over, at which point we were practically thrown out!  TT was disappointed by the result – but we got home to find that BB was not!  Much discussion ensued.  I went to bed and left them to it!

The quad at Glasgow University., with blue sky - so welcome after the greyness of the past few days.  Some stained glass from the Bute Hall in teh extra.
