Icy art
Our first day at home after 30 days of travel, and there’s a lot to do. Although we’d done the major preparing-for-winter jobs before
we left there were plenty of smaller tasks to complete. The inner doors needed hanging, the boards outside the front door are now put away, and 5 water butts are emptied.
The water butts all had a thick layer of ice on the surface, which needed breaking with a large steel bar. Beneath that ice, new ice crystals were growing down into the water, or out from the sides, creating fragile and beautiful structures, and that was today’s blip fixed.
