What if...?

 A friend and I went for a walk to discuss old water courses around Burneside and to look for sites that would have been ponds or bogs in the past.  Instead of this straight stream enclosed by man-made banks and full of non-native monkey flower (attractive though it is when the sun shines) we dreamed of meandering streams and wet areas suitable for lapwings and curlew.  Then we walked up to Potter Fell to check on the tree planting up there and to cheer ourselves up that some environmental progress is being made.
