After the storm
….a brisk sail. With some lovely cloudage!
Storm Babet didn’t have such a serious impact here on the eastern coast of Northern Ireland as it did in Scotland and some other eastern parts of England. There were some pretty impressive waves and the sea was a foamy white almost all over, but it was fairly sheltered in Belfast Lough. The marina in Bangor is tucked behind a pier and breakwater, so the extra lines that the Ards Man had tied against the pontoon did the trick in preventing too much movement by our boat.
I stayed home while the AM went a-sailing, as both my ears have succumbed to infection. I’m almost totally deaf! So not good for crewing. Or much else, unfortunately. Even the tv now has subtitles on!
