Part of my medlar crop
I have to wait until they blet (get over ripe) before I pick them which will make them much tastier. It is the same thing with quince. I managed to scrump a huge bag of them from a tree in the National Trust owned Blaise Hamlet this week and they are ripening in the garage for a few weeks. The tree had so much fruit this year and I find it sad that so much fruit will just be left to rot. There are masses of huge windfall apples there too but my freezer is now full. I could dry some but am running out of energy and my new knee is stilll only 3 1/2 weeks old but is doing really well.
