October 21

The day started out with some rain, then drizzle till about 11 am when it dried off. It was still cloudy all day. So I decided to stay close to home, get some errands done and managed to get 3 loads of laundry done.
When I was out doing errands I decided to find a place to watch the 2023 Truck Convoy for Special Olympics. I decided the best place would be on an overpass so I could watch them coming up the highway. This is the beginning of the convoy. I'm not sure how many trucks were shined up and entered, likely close to 200. It took about 30 minutes for all of them to pass by.
I did see a couple of FB posts from people complaining about the convoy, about how much fuel is wasted by those that enter and why couldn't they just park the trucks and let people bring their kids to see them. The entry fee could be donated to Special Olympics. They don't understand that the money raised also comes from sponsorships. They were also complaining about some of the streets being closed. I didn't see these people complaining about the Natal Day Parades or about the bridge being closed when they have the Bluenose Marathon. Some people just need something to complain about.
I will say it was a noisy convoy from the horns blaring from all the trucks.
I went to a social this afternoon with a travel group. I will have to make sure I arrive earlier at future events so I don't get stuck in a corner sitting next to the organizer who sat with his back turned to me most of the time.
