Ambrosia apples
G's been making apple sauce lately, and ambrosia apples are the latest ones that he'll be using. I made an apple/blueberry/blackberry crumble this morning to have with coffee when Bill came down for a visit. Delicious with whipped cream!
'Ambrosia' is a cultivar of apple originating in British Columbia, Canada in the early 1990s. The original tree was first cultivated by the Mennell family of Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, who discovered it growing in their orchard. (from Google)
We're going to stream Kalyn's afternoon game from Ketchikan, Alaska this afternoon. Her team beat the team from Anchorage on Thursday night. Renata and Kalissa's mum decided to go to Alaska to watch because it's the last time that Kalyn and Kalissa will play in Alaska. Both are seniors. Kalyn and Kalissa played on rep teams before going to SFU and they roomed together in their first year at uni. So great that their mums decided to fly up to watch! Renata has sent some photos, and I'll include one or two as extras when I get a chance. She was very excited to be making the trip. We saw her in the stands in Anchorage when she waved at us! :-))
