After the storm

At last Storm Babet has moved away from our part of Scotland and the rain has stopped  - 2 days of high winds and heavy rain have left a lot of flooding. It was amazing on Friday to experience potatoes pouring out of a field in the muddy water and running down the main road as I tried to get to St Andrews for work - my normal 20 minute journey took me 40 minutes with the normal road blocked. I managed to tuck in behind a large truck that acted like a snow plough through the deeper water.! 

This afternoon the sun appeared so we ventured out and I had hoped to walk alongside the river but as the blip shows the path was completely blocked - a minor inconvenience compared with the people with homes flooded after about 2 months worth of rain , in excess of 200 mm in some places North of the Tay.
