A Very Damp Day in Kirkwall

Well last night’s dancing was very poorly supported, although we danced every dance on the card.  We will be heading in for another attempt this evening.

Into Kirkwall at mid-day for a very brief message, in atrocious conditions.  Whilst in the Toon I bought a comic for Dougal (The Times) and delivered it to him on the way home.  He’s really struggling, both physically and spiritually.  He seems to be very disorientated about his treatment and health regime.  Meantime I have had to deal with publicity regarding Desmond’s launch of his book which is taking place in Montreux.  I note very few literary pundits are handing out plaudits for his ‘Guide to Carlisle’s Pubs’.  A bidding war is not expected for the film rights.

Anna Ford is 80.
