Late afternoon sunshine
Though the day started with the aftermath of Storm Babet, later on the sunshine appeared, so much so that Martin and I went for a wander round the estate, hence this blip.
We are lucky that we have some mature trees as part of the estate landscaping. That said, I read some disturbing news in our local paper about ash dieback, as noted by an East Lothian spokesman:
Current evidence suggests that at least 50 per cent to 75 per cent of Scotland’s approximately 11 million mature ash trees may die over the next two decades.
“Ash dieback has spread across the UK and has now been confirmed in East Lothian.”
Trees are so important to the environment, and is sad to see things like this happening throughout the UK. Emphasises the importance of having a diverse range of tree varieties.
I hope you are having a good Saturday.
