Tour
Hired a car today as feel guilty staying in a resort for a trip and not at least attempting to get to know a place.
So we drove first up to El Cotillo which was rather a one horse town, then down through the middle of Fuerteventura. Barren and bleak with impressive mountains but all a bit brown. Kept saying if it had been as verdant as Scotland then it would be beautiful.
However it still was a great trip. These two soldiers stand at the very high point of the road defining the north form the south which had been conquered by the Normans many moons ago. Personally I would have picked the North with its views to Los Lobos and Lanzarote.
We drove all the way to the bottom, Morro Jable whichever seemed to have been conquered by very large Germans. White sands but again rather characterless. Won’t be back.
It was with relief that we drove back up the east coast to more familiar views and at least Corralejo despite the British Invasion retains some character.
