Happy birthday Ellie

Today was Ellie’s 21st so Jimmy and I put up a banner and some balloons on her room door before she woke. We oldies headed off for a coffee, returning as the kids were awake so we could watch Ellie open her gifts.

My brother was woken early by the news that Angela’s sister had passed away during the night. May she finally rest in peace. We agreed to keep the news from the kids as Angela didn’t want Ellie to be sad on her birthday, although she’s a pretty smart cookie so may have guessed when talking to her mother.

As it was Ellie’s day we made her choose our activities so breakfast at Tom Briwn’s was followed by a game of mini-golf at the Katmandu. I was robbed of a joke in one when my ball skimmed the hole before bouncing out.

Another walk for me before packing as we leave tomorrow. The owners of Sinky’s had organised a cake for Ellie but when we got there, had also decorated the bar so she seemed really pleased at the fuss.

A delicious seafood paella for be at El Mundo’s before back to Sinky’s for the cake. We were all pretty tired so it wasn’t a late night and whilst our flight in the morning is at 11.10, the others are on the 7.10 so a very early start for them and potential travel issues as a result of Storm Babet.

Thabks to Ingeborg for hosting AbstractThursday. I liked the repeating balconies on the apartment block.

Backblipped Friday for Thursday.
