Turn away

Martin and I received this bookmark as a gift after we met up with our friends in Cinque Terre at the beginning of September.  He drew this beautiful view which is similar to the views we saw from the private boat tour we took from Manarola, Italy.  We headed south to Riomarggiore then north to Monterosso al Mare then back to Manarola.  It's not our usual thing we do when we're on vacation but we were very pleased with what we saw.

I couldn't possibly use it as a bookmark because I wanted to preserve the wonderful memories and beauty, so I had it framed.  He took Japanese for a bit and inscribed in the bottom right corner of the drawing “somukeru” which is an online pseudonym he took to replace the old D&D name “tourne”. Somukera roughly translates to “turn away” which was the closest translation he could come up with for tourne, which is form of tourner (to turn).
