A helping hand

Everyone needs a helping hand ... even this bee. He looks like he's struggling, doesn't he? Supposedly, a bee is incapable of flying in the first place (too heavy, not aerodynamic enough etc etc). This one looks like it has been to the gym ... bit of weightlifting ... pec decs :-)

Raining now .... doubt if the bees will be back out.

If anyone knows what this plant is, let me know. Perhaps a weigela? It is about 2ft high. Woody stems. I'm waiting on the RHS identifying it for me, but you guys know your stuff too ... suggestions please.

Potted on my perennials. Divided some of my pond plants (more on that later).
