Crail Harbour

Conor loves the seaside in autumn - rock pools, beaches and particularly harbour walls! He is a huge fan of Whitby but whilst we were visiting the Crail Harbour Gallery & Tearoom he said that if Whitby was a ten then Crail would be a nine.

We had to cut our half-term holiday short today because of Storm Babet. We were going to be spending two more nights in Fife, staying in St Andrews, but the two days we have had have been amazing.

The wind was beginning to build this morning as we visited Kingsbarns Beach. We headed back to Crail so Conor could get to go on the harbour wall (we didn't have time on Monday). Then a cup of tea and cheese scone in the vey cosy tearoom. We popped into the shop selling Stornaway Black Pudding and Arbroath Smokies on our way back to the car.

For an unplanned addition to our holiday we visited the Falkirk Wheel on the way home, having lunch at the Wheelhouse. It wasn't as windy as Fife there, but the wind was really starting to build as we arrived home, so the gazebo had to come down. As we are still on holiday and there is good reason to stay indoors the next two days (for everyone) it is feeling quite festive. So we planned some nice meals and are going to play games and watch movies the rest of the week.
