Cullen
Leaving Edinburgh at 6am in the morning to drive up to Cullen where daughter#1 was going to a funeral was probably a good idea given that the roads were still relatively quiet, although it didn’t get light until we were up at Dundee. We arrived in Cullen in time for a coffee before getting an early check in at the hotel where we were staying.
When the daughter departed for the funeral, I put on my bathing costume and walked through the Seatown part of Cullen to the Harbour pool for a solo frolic in the water.
I was delighted to find the sea calm there having watched the waves crashing on the rocks on the exposed shore.
Later we were both invited for a post funeral dinner with friends where we had a delightful evening with much reminiscing about the newly departed, aided by the copious imbibing of wine.
