Gawthorpe Hall

Went to Tai Chi as usual then off to Burnley to the dentist. Afterwards I went to Gawthorpe Hall hoping there was a an exhibition as part of the Blackburn textile biennial I was disappointed and should have researched before I went. I did have a lovely walk round the house, it is beautiful especially the long gallery. I loved the board allowing you to feel the wallpaper. The original was made with gold leaf. I was told it is now £800 a roll and if they wanted to redecorate the room it would cost £32000!!!!!! so it is a reproduction. The history of the house is interesting as it went down the female line. 
I went to pick up my new glasses, they are going to take a bit of getting used to but the world is so clear now!!
