Bruce Lee might look incongruous in Kogarah Town Square, Sydney, and the statue certainly caused controversy when it was erected about two years ago. But there it is, a symbol of the friendship between Kogarah and its Chinese sister city, Shunde. Bruce Lee's ancestral home was the town of Junan in Shunde, the Chinese explained in making the gift, and the statue also was a reflection of the multicultural demographic of the Kogarah area.
