A Culinary Experiment

Our middle child has challenged Missy Ann to come up with a home recipe for the cookies from the bakery just around the counter from our house.  The daughter lives hundreds of miles away and the bakery has closed it's doors for good.
     When the closing happened we didn't tell her because there wasn't anything we could do about it.  That bakery figures prominately in more than a few family stores and we knew it would make her sad that it was out of business.  

     She found out anyway.

    So Missy Ann, being the magician as well as the mother, has undertaken the re-creation of frosted pumpkin cookies.   
      The bars displayed here are only the first attempt.  They are pretty good and pretty close to the originals but she's not there yet.

     Oh well, I guess I'll have to keep testing the results until she sticks the landing!
