But peace has reigned here for many decades partly due to maybe over the top fortresses including La Mola guarding ‘ the best harbour in the Mediterranean at Mahon.

And equipped with 6x Vickers 15inch Mk 2 Cannons installed in 1936 and never fired in anger and here’s one of them!

We are visiting La Mola built in the mid 1800s to be equipped with 1000s of traditional cannons but overtaken in mid build by early versions of the above.

Sounds like the HS2!!
