Maple Tree Seeds

Most of the yards and the street in our neighborhood are covered by these crunchy maple tree seeds. They are everywhere, we find them in the house and in the car. If you leave the car windows open you can be sure they will fly on in! You hear them crunch under your bike tires on the street.
The seeds will show up in flower beds all year. The wind must whirl them together because I find clumps of them in the ground, which for some reason always seems kind of creepy to me.

Last night we had the loudest thunder I think I have ever heard! Lacey flew off and under the bed! She doesn't seem traumatized today, however!
