Run, Baby, Run

I started off my day at work very frustrated. Every morning when I turn on my computer, it automatically logs me into AIM. Today, AIM decided that I needed to verify my account and a box popped up telling me to enter in the code to verify and then click continue. Well, when I clicked continue, nothing happened. It just stayed on that page. After logging off and then back on to my computer, restarting it, and even re-downloading AIM and still not being able to get this to work, I tried calling AOL for assistance. Little did I know, AOL only provides customer service to people who pay for AOL, even though AIM is a free product. Who even pays for AOL services anymore? Nobody I know. It took me about 15 minutes of talking to a computer to figure this out. So I hung up the phone frustrated and someone from AOL calls me back. This time it's a human being. He asks me to tell him what the problem is and I explain and then he politely tells me that "for a one time fee of $59.95, he can continue" helping me with the problem. UM, NO. I am not doing that, are you for real? The problem was with their own software, not with me. Why should I have to pay a ridiculous fee like that for a program that is free to use? Now to end a long story, I ended up eventually being able to log in through AIM Express after changing my password and having AIM tell me that "something weird was going on. Please try again in a little while." Hrmph. Not a good start to the day.

I did however run 3 1/2 miles after work today, 2, then 1, then 1/2. The track was crowded and people kept standing and walking in the first lane which drove me a little crazy, but I do feel good after that run. And I ran faster and further than I did last time! Forward progress, everyone!
