Defrosting The Light, Aylesford
Work was busy in parts over the last week. It was back to gallery photography which involved getting into work early (which meant missing out on my usual breakfast of a strong coffee and a pain au raisin) to start shooting before everything became too busy and the galleries too full of people. In two morning shifts I managed to shoot nearly 600 images. The next two days involved editing these down by about two thirds. As I hadn't done any real editing for quite a while it took me longer than it should have but I wanted to get it right so I just had to persevere.
Today's shot is a bit of a surreal still life. We had to defrost our freezer as it was totally furred up with ice. After dragging it into the back garden I spotted these lightbulbs sitting around and decided they really would add to the creation of an interesting image. Unfortunately, the freezer took a very long time to defrost completely as we managed to pick one of the coldest days of the autumn so far to carry out the job. Last night didn't help as it dropped below zero! However, it's now back in the kitchen and looks as clean as a whistle!
