Not Baa, Baa Black Sheep!

I don't know where this little black calf has been hiding because today was the first time I had ever seen it. Many of the calves are very sociable and this wee one certainly was as it came right up to the fence to give my hand a lick.

Not easy to get a photograph of black animals so I chose this one because you can just see one eye peeping through the shaggy fringe.

There is a black bull in the herd so I imagine that he must be dad to this youngster.
