When one door closes...
...this one stays open.
A trompe l'oeile on a bricked-up doorway at The World's End pub in the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Apparently it got it's name from being located near the former Netherbow Port which separated Edinburgh's Old Town from the Canongate. Its foundations incorporate part of the Flodden Wall once part of the town's defences.
This trompe l'oeile isn't a particularly good one, here is one that's much better.
