Fresnéu, house of Del Riera
I´ve shown a different view of this house, but it was a while ago.
It belonged to a General Rafael Del Riego, who through his role with the Cortes of Cádiz was instrumental, by imprisoning him, in forcing the king of Spain to accept the unusually liberal Constitución de la Pepa, ratified in 1812. The King, displeased, on his release, had Del Riego hung. The house is in a very bad condition and the frontage is held up in part by metal props.
The main shows a side view (and the thumbnail shows the Del Riego Coat of Arms). I´ll add in extras another detail from that side, a view of the frontage showing the dereliction, and a view from the house across the valley of the Piloña.
If the tall window in the main looks a little odd, it´s because I´ve erased a For Sale sign that was obscuring part of the window space.
