Better Be Home Soon . . . Crowded House

More memories today as we moved on to Lake Tarawera to stay with Meg and Ian who are dear friends.  In the afternoon we walked up the road to see the community garden and then as luck would have it another friend who the forester worked with was home and so we went  in for a quick catch up.  He made the beautiful orange ceramic pot that has appeared in my blips.  Just past his house is Louise and she has recently renovated her house  and has commissioned a Pouwhenua - carved post to mark territory boundaries or places, to be at the entrance.  I haven't seen this on a private house before and think it looks fabulous.  The extra has a close up of the carving.
