Siblings Day Out
Anna had a tricky week last week, and so when Jack heard about it he planned a visit to see her this weekend. After allowing her to drag him around the shops, they embarked on a city walking tour with Anna as tour guide, before going for dinner and returning her to boarding. He then braved the randomness of the transpennine train system and made it back to Leeds about 10pm. She loved their day.
People often say to me, “Oh you must be so proud of them!” referring to their performing. I am, but not because of their dancing. It’s for days like these where they’re siblings who’ve got each other’s backs, and who actively choose to spend time together and check on how the other one is doing. They’ve had a very different school experience to most teenagers, at times absolutely joyous experiences, but they share that understanding of the pressures they both face, and the ups and downs of vocational school life too.
