Sunday

I woke up to pinging on my whatsapp - it was lots of messages from siblings.  Mostly reminiscing about old records that we used to have - this was prompted as my brother had watched the Elvis film last night.  My Mum was an Elvis fan and we were exchanging memories about music.

OH went off to Brands Hatch to watch the Superbikes but I stayed home as I wanted to sort wardrobe and do 'indoor jobs'.  I went to Tesco first to fill the cupboards and get a pork joint for dinner but spotted these 'bad boys' in the meat fridge.  The stuff of nightmares.......... (with apologies to any vegetarians who might read this rubbish).  I remember my Mum cooking them (maybe they were cheap and we didn't have much money).  I hated them and the taste and remember one lunchtime being made to sit in front of a cold plate of food until around 4.00 as I wouldn't eat them.  My parents were the kindest loving parents you could wish for but I suspect it was due to the perceived waste of food/money rather than any other cruelty.

The rest of the day was sorting out and tidying my wardrobe.  Summer clothes now put away and winter wardrobe out.  I also have a big bag for the charity shop - two and a half years on and most of my old 'work wardrobe' is gone - much more casual clothes for me now.

Roast pork cooking now as I type and the crackling is looks yummy!
