Spotted on our walk this afternoon.
We both made it to church this morning, which was fairly well full.
I was sitting in front of a couple from Southern Brazil, whose daughter helps with the videoing of the live feed.
I was telling them about blippers Mike de Trapia and amandoAlentejo who worked for a long time in Brazil with the Baptist Missionary Society. I also said that Portuguese Portuguese, was evidently different than Brazilian Portuguese. They had a laugh at that and said that was so true!
Stephen was sitting next to a young student who had found the church website and come along. He said he was going to bring his friends next time.
I met a couple from India who have been in England for just 3 months.
Had a long chat with them. He is a lecturer and she works in Nuclear medicine at Queen Elizabeth hospital.
And of course all the Cantonese, who seem to be settling in well.
They have simultaneous translation via their phones or ear pieces plus the speakers each week type out their notes beforehand and these are distributed to those Cantonese people who find them helpful to follow, and good for learning English.
After we’d had our lunch we went for our walk.
It has been a simply glorious sunny autumn day, with a clear overarching blue sky.
This morning it must have been cold as the heating came on for the first time.
And I declare the 15 tog duvet was lovely and warm!
Strictly results later.
And I simply must say that Angela Rippon, (a former BBC tv presenter), who was 79 this last week, was absolutely amazing!
I won’t mention the news of which we are all very much aware……
