Herdwicks

This is a "walk to the bins" blip.  I am running out of things to take a macro/close up type blip.  Seeing these two Herdwicks I thought I would take a general shot.

For those who don't know Herdwicks they are an unusual breed.  There are no other UK breeds anything like them.  There are two myths about their origin.  One is they swam ashore from ships of the Armada as they made their way down the west coast, some sinking on rocks.  Personally having watched sheep swimming I doubt this in less than 100 yards the waterlogged fleece would have sunk them.   The second is they were brought by one of the invasions of Scandinavians when they came "viking" to the area.  Another interesting fact is they are born black and get lighter with age.  These two will be this years lambs.
