Across the Forth to Fife

I’m not used to such an intense period of social whirl since I typed on the keyboard yesterday. I hardly had time to draw breath after the TGIF drinks yesterday evening when  my niece and husband arrived to eat with me at NangYang Malaysian restaurant before coming back to the Dower House for some spirits imbibing. Nothing if not organised, my niece presented me with my birthday present and Christmas card, neither of which has to be opened  before the due dates. My fingers are itching already. Speaking of fingers, I had to take a blip of my niece’s nails which she said took 2 hours (I think she said) to perfect.

This morning I met up with another Stromness Singing Selkie who is down in Edinburgh for 2 nights to see her son.  We had bacon rolls and hot drinks in the café in John Lewis with the splendid views. It was lovely to catch up on each other’s news. I do miss seeing the Selkies for their daily dips. These seem to have been quite challenging this week with the wind and perhaps I would have been ‘feart’ to join in.
