Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Good to go!

Josie has been going to football classes with her Dad all this year, and now has her own national strip!
This morning I had impressions taken for my implants. What a difference doing this with a private dentist is. No plastic trays full of rubber, instead a camera which products a 3D image of my jaws in every awful detail!
The metal caps holding the gum open were removed for this process and as he was putting them back the dentist asked the nurse to check the file for the cap that had been used. He laughed out loud when I told him the two different sizes . He said he didn't think anyone had ever done that before. I was then able to tell him the size of posts he had used today for the scans. My ability to hear and retain useless information surprises me at times too. It's one of the reasons sedation doesn't work well for me as I'm so alert to what is going on and relive it all repeatedly once the sedation has worn off.
I took the car into town for my appointment this morning and paid for the extortionate parking when I heard the news that Princes Street had been closed West bound due to a police incident.* with no other detail available, I feared buses would be delayed and diverted and that I might miss my appointment so I drove in and parked out of the troubled area then walked .
Once I got home I headed across to pick up Josie. She'd been sick overnight which is not like her but although subdued, she seemed OK.
She was very quiet and didn't want any lunch, but as always enjoyed playing with the toys. I love to hear her chatter.
