Fly catchers

Threat of heavy rain, so just went to Westbourne for a prescription, walked round the shops, then home.

This photo was taken for a FB Carnivorous page. I planted seeds from my Venus Fly trap (VFT) flower a few months ago, and wanted to ask if the bottom one (in the bottom pot) was a VFT baby. Last time I posted a pic, they thought it was a weed (duly removed). So delighted, after being patient, the real thing has emerged - can you see the baby 'traps on the shoots?!

The top new shoot is a Drosera (Sundew), same as the larger plant above. Both self seeded from the original I bought on line (they are known for spreading everywhere).

Now have to hope the VFT baby survives winter, am sure the other will. No more after this, as they are thirsty plants, and it's a nuisance having to buy large containers of distilled water as tap water unsuitable.

I have a bucket, concealed in a bed outside , which collects a small quantity of rain water for them.
