Ulverston Canal

Its probably quite a few years since we walked alongside Ulverston canal so we went there.
There used to be a path from the back of the Booths carpark  but the last time we did this walk the path was  very overgrown so we walked from Booths and down the main road. *

. It was nice and quiet and flat .. thinking of Fletch. There were lots of lily pads, sadly the wrong seaside  for flowers.

It was a rather grey day.. not the best light for photographs but I took a few. I was delighted to see a couple of herons.. rather far away for a great close up photo but I tried.

Nice to see a seat at the half way point. We paused there on the way back ( to give Fletch a rest was our excuse)
It started to drizzle but luckily it didnt last.

*As we walked back we found the path ,which lead into the carpark, and it wasnt overgrown  so it was nice to avoid the main road

A "quick pee break " in Booths turned into a shop, weve not shopped in there for a while either.
A nice relaxing day
** in case you're interested: Ulverston Canal is claimed to be the deepest, widest and straightest canal in the UK. It's about 1.35  miles long, built in 1796
No longer used, but a great place to walk
